Invocations: to Camus

This collection of works is part of a wider story in the making called Invocations: to Camus, which stems from my experience growing up in an isolated Mediterranean landscape and converses with the work of Albert Camus. Devised in three parts - Xaloc, A Camus & Joc de Miralls - the project combines large format analogue prints with traces of paint and writing interventions and a two channel 8mm projection (in the making).
Inscriptions from Camus’ work are intertwined with my own figments as a means to generate new geographies through the correspondence between the Algerian and the Menorcan landscapes. Visual and language iterations serve as invocations of memories of a place that no longer exist or that is yet to be formed: a landscape that is both familiar and strange.
