2024 - 2025oil on silver gelatin handprint, 90 x 110cm
On odd days, during summertime, the warm sirocco wind veils the southern coast of Menorca, transporting particles of the Sahara desert and a quietly moved lead-dyed-sea. ‘Xaloc’ - ‘sirocco’ in Menorcan dialect, originally from the Arab ‘suruq’ - means ‘sunrise’, or ‘from the south-east’.
