Erola Arcalís (b. Menorca, 1986) is a London based Spanish artist.
Arcalís’ work combines images of abstract landscapes and sculptural still life to create fictions that explore the possibilities in which memory can be re-told, registered and represented outside of the linear temporal narrative. Her practice draws from mythology and poetry as a means of navigating between the staged photograph and the chance encounter; between historical research and personal experience. The use of a large format analogue camera and the making of her own darkroom handprints define both the physical as well as pensive approach to her work.
